HAPPY 21ST BIRTHDAY TO MY DEAREST JACK!!
though the chances of you stumbling across here is rather slim, i still wanna wish U A HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
And of course to tell the world how proud i am of u!
this 21st birthday, jack's army friend bought him a very nice card and wrote " May the Lord bless you" in it,attached to it is a silver key chain with his name and "Jesus loves u" below. this is on top of a nice bag, a nike shirt and a 100 bucks vouchers.
it is not the gift that are importants here, but the thoughts behind the gifts and of course the monetary amount involve(superficial but it does mean something) speaks of how Jack had made an impression in their lives. mind you, none of them who bought the gifts are christians.
When i talk to jack about it, he too said that he didn't know that reading bible in his bunk would cause a lasting effect of them. he's also called the "garang" man in his camp because he will always go all out out in carrying out his duty as a NSF and helping the guys whenever he can.
i think he had earn their respect and i think they see him as a christian who is different.and i call this WITNESS.
one more thing.
Thank God Jack is also able to go for mission trip!i am really really glad! and you know what !he already have the money! one of the reasons for the increase in savings is because he did not go for nights-off during the week because he wanted to do his masterlife! i believe it is because of his faithfullness that God added to him!on top of the 4 digit in his bank account, He grew much closer to God!
and u noe what?!!even though he already have enough,
the amount of money he receive this birthday is enough to cover his mission trip fare too!! ( or his buffet!)
You can never out-give God!
and do you still need me to tell you, Jack has always been very generous with his offerings:)
This is a watered down version of how jack have been a good witness and steward of God and how God poured His blessings on him!
i am overjoyed and my thoughts are running faster than my fingers!
but i juz want to tell you readers, Be a Witness of God! it really makes your life worthwhile!:)

The Road to Healing

For most part of my life that I have cognition, I live with the fear of death. Not my death but death of loved ones. It has been so long, I have more or less just resigned to living with it.  I had vague memory that even as a child, I would cry thinking about the death of my parents. I would go to their bedside and cry while they were sleeping. Now that I think about it, could it be some shows that I have watched because I do recall sobbing uncontrollably over the death of fictional characters in the drama. At the same time I was afraid of ghosts and spirits. I was healed as a youth during an encounter retreat. The facilitator asked me when did I start to be afraid of ghosts and spirits and I said it was attending my first Christian wake as a child when I viewed a dead body for the first time. The facilitator then led me in prayer and since that day, I am no longer afraid of such and was able to be alone in the night.  But still the fear of death of loved ones did not leave me...

To be or not to be feminist?

During Tuesday life group, a recently married young lady mentioned that she is somewhat of a feminist and struggles with the issue of submitting to her husband.  The issue is a complicated one. Firstly, the discourse on feminism is dynamic and many a time laced with emotions. Secondly, the idea of biblical submission is probably not studied or misunderstood. Lastly, one may not really be a feminist or had a submission issue, the root lies somewhere else.  Interestingly, I had on a few occasions been described as a submissive wife although I do not want to probe on the definitions by the people who paid me the compliment/criticism. What they do not know is if they had met the undergraduate me, they would probably think otherwise. The excitement of undergraduate life, the newfound independence and arts education had thrown me into a period of questioning, tears and anger.
