some big day are just a few weeks away. I decided to help you a bit with it in case u r fretting. And if you are not, shouldn't you start?!

5. Famous Amos' no nuts chocolate chips (dun worry about too much of it!)
6. A table top calender (erm..is that wat it's call? anyway i just need a calender that can stand on the table.and preferably with sufficient space to scribble on the individual days:))
7. Send me and bestie to a nice hotel where we can spend a nice weekend?:)
8. me (and bestie also.can?) to a nice nice dinner
9.Send me(and bestie?)to manicure,pedicure cum spa?!
10. Make-up kit (currently in need of foundation and concealer and eye-liner!wahaha!)
11. Body foam,shampoo and lotions(but well, i haven actually finish those in the bathroom)
12.A trip to k-box
13. send me to perm my hair(but oh well, it's not long enough to be permed yet)

How about, what NOT to buy?
1.Soft toys.it's either we chase the kiddo out of the room or mummy will chase me out of the house)
2.Jewelleries (unless it's a real diamond ring. How many bracelets,ear-rings and necklaces can a person wear eh?)
3.Ornaments,photoframes of any kinds (basically those thing that occupies space but u dun really need them. Haven u been to my room before?if u really haven,let me say it looks like a permanent war zone. what's more, those gift are either a sign of i dun really care what i buy or i really dunnoe what to buy. And surely it's not that difficult to locate the nearest famous amos ya.and like i say, dun worry if everyone also buy that.I dun get sick of them:))
4.CDs/Vcds/dvds

But really...

seriously i dun need anything.and if i really want,i could get them.please please dun buy anything if it means u have to skip your meals:)

What i really want this birthday, it's well beyond your means.my baby sis will be contributing to it.(hoh meizai?) haha:)

And J's LCD, i want my dinner. We can forget about the present and spend it all on somewhere,something new that we all haven tried:) i won't mind another sentosa or we can go somewhere for the weekend. But no surprise please!

The Road to Healing

For most part of my life that I have cognition, I live with the fear of death. Not my death but death of loved ones. It has been so long, I have more or less just resigned to living with it.  I had vague memory that even as a child, I would cry thinking about the death of my parents. I would go to their bedside and cry while they were sleeping. Now that I think about it, could it be some shows that I have watched because I do recall sobbing uncontrollably over the death of fictional characters in the drama. At the same time I was afraid of ghosts and spirits. I was healed as a youth during an encounter retreat. The facilitator asked me when did I start to be afraid of ghosts and spirits and I said it was attending my first Christian wake as a child when I viewed a dead body for the first time. The facilitator then led me in prayer and since that day, I am no longer afraid of such and was able to be alone in the night.  But still the fear of death of loved ones did not leave me...

To be or not to be feminist?

During Tuesday life group, a recently married young lady mentioned that she is somewhat of a feminist and struggles with the issue of submitting to her husband.  The issue is a complicated one. Firstly, the discourse on feminism is dynamic and many a time laced with emotions. Secondly, the idea of biblical submission is probably not studied or misunderstood. Lastly, one may not really be a feminist or had a submission issue, the root lies somewhere else.  Interestingly, I had on a few occasions been described as a submissive wife although I do not want to probe on the definitions by the people who paid me the compliment/criticism. What they do not know is if they had met the undergraduate me, they would probably think otherwise. The excitement of undergraduate life, the newfound independence and arts education had thrown me into a period of questioning, tears and anger. I had to come face to face on whether my religion is just a clutch, an opium for the society. I do not know ...
