Of Updates and Fervour Day

Everyday, I churn up in my mind the many things I'm gonna blog about. And then they keep remaining in my mind, some forgotten along the way or simply become too outdated to be posted.

But there are just too many things that are vying for my attention. I still got more than a dozen assignments due.

But I am glad grammar test, sermon, and Fervour day preparation are over. The difference between these and normal works is that these gave me some unknown anxiety. Sat was crazy with rehearsal with James and Jian, communion, the bible reading plan set up and Fervour day. Right after fervour day, we went to send James off after 3hrs of sleep, I left home at 520am and return more than 12hours later due to soccer. I don't know how I manage to finish up my presentation and made it to morning class the next day.

Enough said. Everybody is busy. We will learn to manage. But really, without God and His grace, I don't know how I survive some of these days. But God is good. All the stuff went well:) Even if they didn't, God is still good, I am really relieve that I can manage day to day:0

So, sermon got positive feedbacks!

Fervour day was well despite some hiccups. I am pleased with the place, the food, the service, the programme didn't really screw up, most importantly, I think once again convenant was reviewed and I see everyone's gathered, talking and loving each other, which was priceless. I am just so blessed by the effort that people put in, the importance they put in making this day and this cell group works. Jian is right, we are who we are today because of you. Actually, the programme is not the utmost important, but we just wanted it to be memorable for you guys. Of course, many room for improvements but I think it was perfect because you guys were there, it is just not the same without you.

I love you guys lots and I thank God so much for everything that He has provided and for seeing us through:)

p/s sorry about the post being so not coherent and you probably spot some errors here and there; coz if I were to edit and check, the post will take a long while before it is publish. Dun want it to be outdated again:)

The Road to Healing

For most part of my life that I have cognition, I live with the fear of death. Not my death but death of loved ones. It has been so long, I have more or less just resigned to living with it.  I had vague memory that even as a child, I would cry thinking about the death of my parents. I would go to their bedside and cry while they were sleeping. Now that I think about it, could it be some shows that I have watched because I do recall sobbing uncontrollably over the death of fictional characters in the drama. At the same time I was afraid of ghosts and spirits. I was healed as a youth during an encounter retreat. The facilitator asked me when did I start to be afraid of ghosts and spirits and I said it was attending my first Christian wake as a child when I viewed a dead body for the first time. The facilitator then led me in prayer and since that day, I am no longer afraid of such and was able to be alone in the night.  But still the fear of death of loved ones did not leave me...

To be or not to be feminist?

During Tuesday life group, a recently married young lady mentioned that she is somewhat of a feminist and struggles with the issue of submitting to her husband.  The issue is a complicated one. Firstly, the discourse on feminism is dynamic and many a time laced with emotions. Secondly, the idea of biblical submission is probably not studied or misunderstood. Lastly, one may not really be a feminist or had a submission issue, the root lies somewhere else.  Interestingly, I had on a few occasions been described as a submissive wife although I do not want to probe on the definitions by the people who paid me the compliment/criticism. What they do not know is if they had met the undergraduate me, they would probably think otherwise. The excitement of undergraduate life, the newfound independence and arts education had thrown me into a period of questioning, tears and anger.
