election
i was very impressed when i come across a particular article in a secular chinese entertainment magazine. and i think it's really funny so i'm gonna try to translate it as accurately as possible.
new meanings in the month of election
worth it! : travel all the way to the rally and got bitten by mosquitoes while standing on the grass patch but suprisingly caught the 4 heavenly kings of the opposition party together!namely Chiam See Tong , Low Thia Khiang, Jeyaretnam and Chee Soon Juan .
Esctatic: everyone gathered legally to hear the opposition firing at the government.
Suspicion: is the expresionless man standing at the corner who fold his arms and doesn't clap a spy?
Rarely: elects trying non stop to speak in dialects.
Smart: prepared your own picnic mat, foldable chairs, tidbits, drinks, rain coat,mini-fan....
Risk: you can say as you pleases, when the letter from the lawyer comes tmr, flee the day after next?
Flirt: start to use your charm to list out all your agendas: upgrading of flats, tax rebate...
Norm: walk-over
Elated: someone actually dare to contest in the constituency one is staying.
Puzzled: suppose to be in the central but listed under constituency in the east
Apathetic: dun even know which constituency one belongs to, not to mention the representatives' names and looks.
Enthusiatic: know all about the nominated mebers, including their horoscope.
Sentimental: still asking bout the wherebouts of Tang Liang Hong .
Grateful: as long as it's white top and bottom we'll support. because "if it wasn't for the thunderbolt, would we have what we have today?"
Angry: as long as it's not white top and bottom we'll support. because " if it wasn't for the
thunderbolt, we won't be having what we have today!"
Rational: who cares what colour is the pants. listen to the speech and tally with the actions.
on the same note, i happen to stumble across the website and found out that the Singapore People's party have their own Youth Impact. haha! if you are interested, it's http://www.spp.org.sg/INDEX%20youth.HTM
and yes i'm very disappointed that for once the residence of Bukit Panjang gets to vote and i can't even though i turned 21. and i get e feeling that some that can are much more apathetic than i am and shouldn't be given the chance to..
