The Eight Events of Year 2007
In 4 days time, year 2007 is coming to an end. Like all other years, there were ups and downs, but year 2007 was a good year still and i am thankful to God for that.
Let's look at some major events in lyn's life in year 2007:)
8. Year 2007, i graduted from NUS. Entering NUS was a dream come through, a totally by God's grace chance. In NUS, my values and thinkings were put to a great great challenge. Nevertheless the learning has been the most beneficial and enjoyable. Undergrad life pass faster than any of my other academic years but it has been the best learning period of my life, academically wise:)
7. Year 2007, i got my first full time job. First pay. I consider my first experience into the workforce, though a little challenging but still i landed on rather soft ground and protected environment. Work-scope wise, you have already heard my numerous lament. But i am thakful to God, He probably know if reality were to hit me one time straight in the face, i probably cannot take it. The current environment allows me to learn at my own pace, grapple with my aspirations while taking a reasonable wage. The numerous people i met here are really a blessing, which is also my greatest loss i'm afraid when i step out in a few months time.
6. Year 2007, i had another dream come through. Though work has allow no time for practice, i feel so bless just to able to land my fingers on those keys.
5. Year 2007, i went on a supposed grad trip with my favourite people. It was a very enjoyable experience which memories will probably last a life-time.
4. Year 2007, i went on probably my last mission trip to Thailand but it has been my best.
3. Year 2007, Winnie came to fervour and subsequently others. The dry period was way too long, the wait was painful. But it was a good process, that taught me lessons which i think could never be learnt unless through the hard way.
2. Year 2007, D got sick. It was testing of my faith. These days we still battle with it, it still hurts. But The Lord gives and The Lord takes away, blessed be the name of the Lord.
1. The most heart-wrenching, most tears involve, most scary, most dramatic, most memorable gotta be breaking the news! haha! Nevertheless it was a huge huge relief and i knew God and myself in a new way. I am really thankful especially for Sis Wanping who choose to love me no matter what i've done. It was a tough time for the pastoral team too but they choose to put my interest first. I am also grateful to JLCD, who make things easy for us. Who allow us space and yet at the same time not isolating us. The whole gang needed new adaptations but they did it and they did not abandon me but love me still the same. I am really really thankful.
Even as i am writing this, i am amaze at the number of events that can take place, the things that can be learnt, the relationships that can be built in just 365 days. There were downs which God turn it into lessons learnt and good things that come with it. There were also so many good things that came from Him.
Have a blessed new year to all out there! Stay close to God, the creator of all things, the giver of every good things, the God who has a plan for your life, and your 2008 will not go wrong:)
